Lease termination (tenant)

Notice letter to terminate an open-ended lease or a 9-year lease on the tenant's side. Minimum 3-month notice.
Formal notice (urgent repair)

Formal letter to the landlord requiring an urgent repair (heating, leak, infestation) after an informal request that went unanswered.
Dispute of the service charges statement

Letter to the landlord or building manager to dispute a service charges statement or require supporting documents (article 1728quater of the Civil Code).
Request for return of the rental deposit

Letter to the landlord to require return of the deposit after the end of the lease if it is delayed (beyond 2 months after the exit inventory).
Formal notice for unpaid rent (landlord)

Letter from the landlord to a tenant who has not paid the rent. Mandatory step before any proceedings before the Justice of the Peace.
Complaint to an energy supplier

Letter disputing a gas / electricity bill from a Belgian supplier. First step before referring the matter to the Federal Ombudsman for Energy.
Notification of change of address (bank / health fund / employer)

Standard letter to inform a third party (bank, health fund, employer, telecom operator) of your change of address. In addition to the mandatory official declaration to the commune within 8 days.
Complaint to the building manager (condominium)
To the building manager
Letter from a co-owner to the building manager (syndic) demanding the convening of a general meeting, transmission of the accounts or contesting a decision. Refers to article 3.86 of the Belgian Civil Code (new property law, 2020).
Tax complaint (administrative appeal — FPS Finance)

Administrative appeal letter against a tax assessment (PIT, NRT, CIT). Article 366 of the Belgian Income Tax Code 1992 — statutory deadline of 6 months from the sending of the assessment notice.
Heating allowance application (Social Heating Fund)

Letter to the CPAS/OCMW requesting the heating allowance (Social Heating Fund). For low-income households — heating oil, bulk LPG, kerosene. To be filed within 60 days of delivery.
Exercise of your GDPR rights (access / rectification / erasure)

Standard letter to exercise GDPR rights (art. 15 to 22) with a data controller: bank, platform, employer, health fund. Mandatory response within 1 month.
Subscription cancellation (telecom, gym, streaming)
To a provider
Standard letter to cancel an open-ended contract or a tacitly renewed subscription. Refers to the Belgian law on electronic communications (free cancellation after 6 months of commitment) and art. VI.91/9 of the Code of Economic Law.
Things to remember

Registered mail required for all legal notices (termination, formal notice). Simple sending has no legal value in case of dispute.

Keep the proof : receipt acknowledgement, dated photos, written exchanges. That's what counts before the Justice of the Peace.

Justice of the Peace : the competent court for rental disputes in Belgium. Free or low-cost procedure, accessible without a lawyer.
