The MOBIB card for urban transport

MOBIB is the rechargeable contactless card common to STIB (Brussels), De Lijn (Flanders), TEC (Wallonia) and SNCB (train). One card, all BE public transport.

Issue: €5 each, at any STIB / De Lijn / TEC point of sale.
Brupass XL: combined STIB + metro + premetro + tram + bus ticket for extended Brussels area.
For short-stay visitors: prefer paper 1-day tickets (~ €7.50) or Brussels Card with transport option.

Good to know

City cards are sold online (received by email with QR code) or at tourist office. Online purchase = no queue, sometimes -10 %.
Train tickets can be bought up to 1 minute before departure on SNCB app or at station — no need to book in advance for domestic journeys.
Children < 12 travel free on BE trains accompanied by an adult (max 4 children).
