Advertising policy

Why advertising?

BelgiGuide is an independent service developed by a small team. Most features are free. To cover infrastructure costs (hosting, database, emails, domain), we offer an optional "Support" subscription and, since May 2026, a few limited advertising spaces.

If advertising bothers you, you can disable it entirely by subscribing to the Support plan.

What we do

• Self-served : we manually select each sponsor. No automated advertising network.
• Images hosted by us : visuals are stored on our Supabase infrastructure. No third-party pixel, no external iframe, no measurement JavaScript.
• Anonymous counting : we count impressions and clicks globally (one counter per campaign), without associating these counters with an identified user, without cookie, without IP storage.
• Mandatory "Advertising" label : each ad is labelled Advertising and mentions the sponsor, as required by the Belgian Code of Economic Law (article VI.97).
• Sensitive pages excluded : no advertising is displayed in conversion zones (subscription, account, settings, admin, dashboard, login, onboarding).

What we don't do

• No Google AdSense, no Facebook Pixel, no Criteo.
• No advertising cookies, no fingerprinting.
• No sharing of your personal data (profile, calculations, contracts, health insurance) with an advertiser.
• No retargeting: what you consulted yesterday does not influence the ad you see today.
• No behavioural advertising: the same banner is served to all visitors of a given page (with random rotation between active campaigns).

Selection criteria

We refuse advertisers whose products or services are incompatible with BelgiGuide's mission (supporting residents and expats in Belgium with reliable information). The following are notably excluded:

• High-interest consumer credit / mini-loans.
• Crypto-assets and speculative financial products.
• Relocation services, tax advice, or real estate platforms that would fraudulently duplicate our content.
• Gambling and betting.
• Any proposal not complying with Belgian legislation.

This list is not exhaustive — we reserve the right to refuse any advertiser without justification.

Your rights

Since we do not collect any personal data linked to advertising, there is no specific right of access / rectification / erasure to exercise here. For your general data, see the privacy policy.

Write to us via the partners page. We are happy to discuss a targeted campaign on a specific module (energy, health insurance, housing, calculators).

This policy may be updated. We commit to signalling any substantial change via an information banner.
